Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi, my name is Maki. When I was a puppy I was purchased by a family from a pet store. I was told that I was cute and that my family would love me forever. I lived in a home for 11 years until one day, my family claimed to be allergic to me and dumped me in a shelter in August of 2014. I was there for a while but then another family saw how cute I was an took me to their home. I lived with them for a year but they also grew tired of me & said their landlord no longer allowed me in their home. So I was surrendered back to the shelter in the beginning of July. But my chances of being adopted were not good and I was in a kill shelter. So another shelter took me in. I’ve been living in a shelter for 2 months.

Thankfully, DC SIR saw me the day the shelter listed me and reached out to rescue me. I was so happy because I hear that they work real hard to make sure that all DC SIR dogs go to a REAL forever home! I was born 9/25/2003, so I am going to be 12 years old this September. I have a lot of love to give and DC SIR said they will make sure I am healthy for adoption. When DC SIR picked me up from the shelter they noticed I may have an eye infection, swollen glands that may need to be aspirated and I will need senior panel blood work. Please help DC SIR with funds so I can be healthy and adopted.

Even though I am 11 years old, I know that I would make a great addition to a family. I’m incredibly sweet and loving! DC SIR says that I will be available for adoption after I get a medical exam, so please let them know you want to share your life with a sweet girl like me!
