Kisa

Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi everyone, my name is now Kisa. I’m an 8 years old female Shiba Inu and in need of your help so that I can get better soon. See I went to live with my dad during a divorce when I was 4 years old and my mom and grandma didn’t see or hear from me for over 4 years. Then, one day in February 2014, my grandma found me on her front porch, infected, sick, weak and terrified. She immediately took me in and tried very hard to care for me. She spent hundreds of dollars in just a couple months, I am on so many drugs, but I am still so sick and in agony.

Despite the medication for my eyes, they still leak with infection and puss. Despite the drugs for my ears they still burn, itch and are filled with yeast. Despite my expensive high-end limited ingredient kibble and prescription canned food, I have dry brittle hair and constant itch. Despite multiple medicated baths, the smell of yeast and rot hasn’t washed away yet. Despite the daily injections, the steroids and the other pills I take for my inflamed, burning, itchy and bleeding skin, I find no relief from my constant pain.

DC SIR has helped many dogs like me. They are the last resort when drugs used to cover my symptoms no longer work. I want to be happy and live without pain.

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.

DC SIR does not have a shelter facility. To meet our adoptable dogs, interested adopters can attend one of our monthly adoption events.
