Kiyoshi

Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi, my name is Kiyoshi. I’m a 7 year old male Red Shiba Inu. I used to live in a home but my family surrendered me to a DC SIR. I lived with another dog my whole life, but she used to bully me. She is older and my family thought it would be easier to find a new home for me, than it would be for my sister because she has had a rough life and doesn’t have much longer to live. I know my family loves me and wants to do what is best for me, but it still hurts to leave my home. I was nervous at first but everyone at DC SIR has treated me so nicely and I’m looking forward to finding my forever home.

So let me tell you a little about myself. I am very sweet towards people, and will let you rub my tummy and cuddle with me. I love running, walks in the park, and playing with durable chew toys. I love to play, but I’m definitely not a fan of nail trims and vet visits – where’s the fun in that? I may also need a little patience and training because I resource guard my food from the cats and dogs that I have lived with. If you will just communicate nicely with me, I will learn that everyone is not trying to bully me. I do well meeting new dogs and I really just want to play. Hey – I hear that I am going to have my very own album with pictures and stories about me. Please watch for updates so you can see how handsome and smart I am.

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.

DC SIR does not have a shelter facility. To meet our adoptable dogs, interested adopters can attend one of our monthly adoption events.
