Pikachu

Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi! My name is now Pikachu and I’m a 5 year old male cream Shiba Inu. I lived with my dad for years and was a real good dog. But life changed and he has a son and a girlfriend who doesn’t want to deal with me so I found myself in rescue. I’m a little guy with a big personality. When DC SIR met me for my intake, I let them touch all over me with a big smile! My mouth, my paws, my ears and all! I like people a lot. My dad said I can be reactive to men but I love my foster dad and bonded with him real quick. I can yell at strange men while on leash but if I get to know you I’ll show you love! So let me tell you a little about myself. You might have noticed my tail is partially gone. This happened last November when traveling with my family. I chewed it off probably because of massive nerve damage. It just didn’t feel a part of me anymore. It could have happened by getting caught in a door or something. But now that it is gone, I am fine and still good looking right?

I lived with a 2 year old and I did real well and loved him a lot. But my dad said I growled when he would stand on me. I love kids but I really don’t want them on top of me and I would try to tell everyone with a growl. Isn’t that what I’m supposed to do? I met DC SIR dog, Katniss. She was alright but after a couple minutes I yelled at her. It worked! She beat it! Ha! So now I’m in a foster home and separated from the other dogs in the house. My foster parents are going to take lots of pretty pictures of me and tell you about my personality and quirks over the next couple of weeks. I hope you will help me find my perfect forever home! Please share my story and help me get adopted after my 2 week assessment.

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.

DC SIR does not have a shelter facility. To meet our adoptable dogs, interested adopters can attend one of our monthly adoption events.
