Taiji

Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi everyone! My name is now Taiji. I’m a 4 year old red male Shiba Inu and I have only ever lived with one family, with children and a older Shiba sister and I love them very much. However, I don’t always tolerate other children and I have some leash reactivity, so DC SIR promised to work on these issues with me and place me in a pawfect forever home! My pawrents love me very much and took such great care of me, but the environment just isn’t good for me. My dad cried when he dropped me off and I cried on the way to DC SIR intake home. But the nice woman gave me yummy chicken and spoke to me in a soothing voice and I am starting to believe that everything will turn out all right.

DC SIR was told that I am good with friendly dogs so I may be able to go to a home with a very friendly dog since I did loved to play with my fur-sister. I’m pretty overweight so after a couple weeks on a species-appropriate raw diet DC SIR is going to test my Thyroid. My family donated towards my care with DC SIR, so any extra donations on my behalf will go towards helping DC SIR take in other dogs who are in desperate need of help. Please consider donating, “In Taiji’s behalf” to help more rescues find their way to DC SIR. So a little more about me: I really do love people. I’ll pull back my ears, squint my eyes and shake my butt to show you how happy I am to see you! I do need someone who is familiar with positive training!

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.

DC SIR does not have a shelter facility. To meet our adoptable dogs, interested adopters can attend one of our monthly adoption events.
