Nami

Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi, my name is Nami.  I lived in a home for 11 years until one day, my family moved.  I begged them to take me with them, but they couldn’t.  My heart broke as they left me at the shelter, because I thought that I would die there.  I couldn’t imagine that anyone would want to adopt an 11 year old dog.  Even though I was so sweet to everyone who met me, and all the dogs around me, no one wanted to take me home.  Then some nice people shared my story on Facebook.  They could tell that I had a big heart and a lot of love left to give a family.  DC SIR saw their plea and vowed that they would save me.  This was at the end of April 2013.

For nearly two months, DC SIR tried to rescue me from the shelter, to no avail.  The shelter thought that someone would adopt me.  Finally, on June 23, 2013, the shelter realized that DC SIR would be the best place to find me my perfect forever home.  My freedom awaited me.  I will always remember the kindness, time, dedication and love from the wonderful people who saved my life and brought me to my foster home.

Even though I am 11 years old, I know that I would make a great addition to a family.  I’m incredibly sweet and loving!  DC SIR says that I will be available for adoption after I get a medical exam, so please let them know you want to share your life with a sweet girl like me!

Nami has a wonderful disposition – she is terrific with people, dogs and cats.  She is completely housebroken and knows basic commands.

Please email adoption@dcsir.org and tell them you’d like to adopt Nami!

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.

DC SIR does not have a shelter facility. To meet our adoptable dogs, interested adopters can attend one of our monthly adoption events.
