Washi

Adoption status: Adopted!

WASHIHi there, my name is now Washi. I’m a 2 year old male Shiba Inu and I lived with a family who loved me very much, but now I need to find a new home through DC SIR. I am hoping that when you hear about me, you might want to meet me and see how wonderful I am! I’ve always been real friendly with my hu-mom but I don’t always like men. I am a Shiba Inu, you see, so I am challenging to raise and train. I am a bold, high-spirited “big dog in a small body,” so that is why I must be placed in a home that understands that I only respond to positive reinforcement training. This is really important if you want me (or any Shiba Inu) to behave. I know that my adorable fox face and huggable body will tempt you into giving me aggressive hugs and torrential kisses. But Washi doesn’t want that! I need my space to be respected and I’ll promise to love and respect you back! I played so well with my other fur brother and sisters, but I don’t like to share certain things. Like bones!?! Imagine if someone tried to take your Venti Double Espresso White Mocha Latte from you! You’d nip them in the butt too! So you see, I’m a regular Shiba Inu who would love to be in a home with other dogs to play with and savvy dog people to love me and guide me into being the best most adorable Shiba Inu I can be. It’ll be hard, because I’m pretty adorable and I know how to wrap you around my little paw!

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.

DC SIR does not have a shelter facility. To meet our adoptable dogs, interested adopters can attend one of our monthly adoption events.
