Diego

Adoption status: Adopted!

Diego

Hi everyone! My name is Diego. I’m a 5 year old red male Shiba Inu originally from a breeder in Washington State. DCSIR first heard about me back in March of 2013 when my owner could no longer keep me and put me in the shelter. DCSIR heard I was so sweet: I’m great with all dogs and I even love cats! But the shelter said they would place me. Unfortunately, through no fault of my own, that home couldn’t keep me either and I was back in the shelter again. I wasn’t too scared though, because everyone was very nice to me. I loved when people would come visit me in my cage! I’d pull back my ears, squint my eyes and shake my butt to show them how happy I was to get any kind of attention.

Then, after just a couple of days, DCSIR drove down to get me! I showed them how happy I was to see them and did my best Shiba welcome! Before we left the shelter, I peed and kicked some grass on it! Bye Bye Shelter! I’m a free dog and I know DCSIR will find me a FOREVER home! I’m just about the best little Shiba you could find. But since I came back to the shelter I HATE to have my tail pulled (who does?) and I will nip at you to tell you not to hurt me! Because of this, I can’t be in a home with children. I need savvy Shiba people or someone who is familiar with positive training which I respond to and learn from! I will be ready for adoption after July 26, 2013.
