Kuma

Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi everyone, my name is now Kuma and I’m about 10 years old. I was found wandering the streets in Maryland. I was not in good shape when I was found. My fur was matted and dirty. My nails were so long it hurt to walk and my old bones are riddled with arthritis from years on a meager diet. I can’t tell you where I came from but I can tell you that my people didn’t bother to reclaim me while I sat in the shelter waiting for someone, anyone to help me. DCSIR thinks that it is better for me to be with them since I am in such bad shape. They also said I look so very handsome! They are going to get me on a real good diet that will make me feel better while staying with a family in their foster program. Then they will take me to their doctor to figure out why my back legs hurt so much. I’m even told I may get a forever home where I will always have healthy food, clean water, toys and lots of love! I hope this is true and someone out there will love me so much that they would never EVER let me wander the streets looking for food and comfort. I am a good boy and I don’t take up too much room.

Male – 10 yr old – good with cats – good with dogs – I get along with most anyone I meet: I just love people dogs and cats! But DCSIR will tell you all about my likes, loves and quirks soon enough! Please share my story so that my forever home can find me!

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.
