Sako

Adoption Status: Adopted!

Hi everyone! My name is Sako. I’m a young female Shiba puppy that DC SIR found in a SC shelter in January. But when DC SIR came to get me, the shelter decided to adopt me out to a family that said they had Shiba experience. DC SIR Volunteers left that day hoping that I would be happy, but know that nearly 80% of Shibas adopted out have come back to them somehow. Such is my case. Not even a month later, I found myself dumped back at the shelter but because the family said I played too rough and I wasn’t potty trained. Didn’t they know I’m a puppy and need training?

What’s worse, now I have ringworm and need expensive treatment and isolation from others while I recover. Thankfully, DC SIR is here to help me again. I wish I left with them that day they waited hours at the shelter to take me, but I am glad I will get the care and training I need to be a happy and healthy puppy! I’m in boarding in SC now but need a ride up to my foster home in DC. Please consider making a small donation to care for my medical treatment, boarding and care. I am super lucky to have a foster home with no other pets to care for me while I recover, I’ve been on some strong medicine for a week but it’s lonely here in boarding and I want to go to a home.

DC SIR says I’ll be healthy and ready for adoption in just a month or so! I’m a super friendly pup who loves other dogs and just needs some basic training and love once DC SIR heals me!
