Simba

Hi, my name is now Simba. I am a pure bred male red Shiba Inu, although the years have turned my fur white. There is a legend of a great, brave lion named Simba so I am proud of my new name. When you hear my story, you will know why. I was found wandering in the middle of the highway in Georgia. How I got there, I still don’t know. I remember feeling the vibrations of the road as cars whizzed by me. I remember the stench of oil and rubber as fumes attacked my nostrils. There is very little else I can remember other than being thrown into a car and brought to a place where I was put into a cage. I can’t tell you much more than that. You see, I am deaf and cannot hear you. My eyes are so poor I cannot see you very well. My bones ache and I have pain in my knees and hips.

But DCSIR heard about me and could not let me languish in a shelter. They thought that I should be able to know love for the rest of my life. They were willing to take a chance on an old man in the hope that someone out there is willing to open their heart to me. I know I am not young and healthy, but I am kind and gentle and caring. I know I deserve more than being dumped on the streets. I would love to live out my time in the warmth and love of your home, if only you’ll let me.
