Tana

Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi! My name is now Tana, and I was one of the two boys of the Missouri 8. I have to tell you, I am such a happy and playful boy, you might not even guess I came from a puppy mill! The first couple of nights in my foster home, I would startle in my sleep. But I would then realize I was still free, sleeping on a comfy couch and not a hard wire crate. But now that I’m settled in, I realized that sleeping in is fantastic!!

When I came to my foster home I realized I hit the jackpot on those things called toys! They were everywhere! Every step I took there was another one, and all different styles. I can chase them, throw them, and chew on them! Only problem is I haven’t quite learned to share yet.

I do love to cuddle and be close to my foster mom and her boyfriend. I will go flop down on them and start snoring! Foster mom says its cute when she hears my Shiba snores. If they aren’t around, I curl up on the couch and go to sleep.
My back leg does bother me a little. But it doesn’t really hurt. My foster mom can touch it and it doesn’t bother me. I can run around the fenced yard without a problem. I can even chase the other Shibas in the yard when they chase each other…foster mom says that is called “playing”. And I still have a little cough. I’m not worried about those things, though. I know that DC SIR will take care of me and make sure I’m healthy. Just in time for me to find my forever home!

Please consider donating for Tana’s medical care, and email adoption@dcsir.org and tell them you’d like to adopt Tana!

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.
