Chibi

Adoption status: Adopted!

Chibi

Hi! My name is now Chibi and it means small/miniature in Japanese. I am a small, red, female Shiba Inu at just 14lbs! I was born 10/25/12 and I have only ever lived with one family who loved me very much. I lived with children and a much older Shiba Inu. However, when I was younger, they hired a trainer who used a shock collar on me for training. My family knew it wasn’t right, so they fired the trainer but since that time with the ‘trainer’ I became unpredictable with the children and my older Shiba family. DC SIR said they would find me a home without children and reassess my ability to live with other dogs. I am actually very well socialized and I love to meet new people. I may give you kisses or ignore you. It really depends on how I am feeling. DC SIR said they will make sure I go to a family who will commit to a force-free training contract with an approved DC SIR trainer. They said training will be fun and I will enjoy learning! That sounds like a lot of fun!

So let me tell you a little bit about myself, I have been at Shiba HQ for a couple hours and met all the other foster dogs and visitors. I growled at some dogs but my foster mom took her time with the introductions so I got to feel comfortable before meeting each new dog. But it’s only the first day so they don’t know if a home with other dogs is going to be a permanent option. Some more stuff and things about me: I think boiled chicken is delicious and I squealed with delight after my foster mom came back into the room after being gone just a short time. DC SIR will need a full two weeks to assess my personality and ability to live with other dogs or cats. Will you please share my story so that I may find a forever home?
