Hello everyone, my name is Tetsuo and it means, “wise hero” in Japanese. I am a 7-year-old, red, male Shiba Inu. I am a wonderful Shiba but had to leave my home because I didn’t get along with the two other Shibas even though we’ve lived together for many years. I don’t mind other dogs most of the time but I can be reactive with other dogs around treats, toys, and people I think are mine. I would love to be the only dog and center of attention with my new family! I weigh 27lbs and have been on a raw diet most of my life so I already have soft fur and really white teeth! When I was picked up by a DC SIR volunteer, she took me straight to my vet appointment to get my 4DX bloodwork and Wellness check. I was really nervous and kept trying to leave but I did eat some chicken. When the vet had to poke me with needles I struggled a bit but when I was done everyone cheered for me and gave me treats so I guess I was good! But let me tell you one thing, I don’t like my paws touched so that is something my family would need to work on to trim my nails. The vet said I look like I am in great shape too! After visiting the vet, the volunteer took me to Shiba HQ. I got to explore the yard on my own first, then met the neutral dogs Katniss and then Buddy. I did really well with them, so I got to meet all the other dogs. I even played chase with Buddy! DC SIR thinks I would be a great dog for an active family that likes adventures. Even though DC SIR thinks I should go to an only dog home, I can still play with other dogs and go out on group adventures. With the right training, DC SIR thinks I can be a Shiba Ambassador! I just left Shiba HQ for my foster home where I will be the king of the castle!
