Web Assistant

Do you have web experience? Are you familiar with content creation and strategy, web design, user experience, information architecture, and best practices? If so, you could put these skills to use by serving as the DCSIR Web Assistant!

This is an exciting time to join the DCSIR web team, as we prepare for a total site redesign! The website will serve to carry out DCSIR’s mission by providing accurate, up-to-date, and engaging content for both current and prospective audiences.

This is a collaborative volunteer position that will have you working with several people. Must be able to work well with others and give and receive advice.

Weekly hours:  1 – 5 hours. Varies depending on events, promotions, and status of rescue dogs.

  • Maintain the current site with daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc updates, including:
    • Posting available dogs
    • Month in reviews
    • Blog posts (such as Alumni Updates)
  • Assist in the redesign of the DCSIR website
  • Create and post content
  • Work with other volunteers to develop new content, including promotional graphics
  • Develop new initiatives

No location requirement. Must be able to access Internet.

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.

DC SIR does not have a shelter facility. To meet our adoptable dogs, interested adopters can attend one of our monthly adoption events.
