Yoshi

Adoption Status: Adopted!

YOSHI

Hi there! My name is Yoshi. You may remember me from DC SIR back in 2012. At no fault of my own, I find myself back in rescue. I was just 11 months old when I was adopted by a couple who loved me very much. I was the only dog and the center of their attention. For the past 2 years they took care of me real well. I went to training classes and even a GROWL class to learn to communicate better with other dogs. I also got the best toys and went on fun adventures. But my parents broke up and neither one are in a position to care for me.

This is why I am back in rescue and I’m sad but hopeful. I’m good with most dogs if I am properly introduced by savvy dog people who understand dog body language so they can make sure I feel safe. I especially love to play with very friendly females. Some people may think I’m dog aggressive but that’s because they need to introduce me to other dogs properly. But to be honest, I’m not the type of dog to go to dog parks. I’ve been great with cats too but don’t let them try to take my food! I’m learning to share again now that I’m in a foster home with a lot of dogs! I even started sharing my treats with my favorite foster sisters.

DC SIR would really like for me to go to a home with another friendly dog & a family who understands the fundamentals of force free training so I can continue to make progress with other dogs. I’d prefer a home in the suburbs to the city because the city streets can stress me out. Please email adoption@dcsir.org find out more about me!

DC SIR is a non-profit, volunteer-run network of foster homes in the Washington, DC area.

DC SIR does not have a shelter facility. To meet our adoptable dogs, interested adopters can attend one of our monthly adoption events.
