Ginger is an 6 year old, female, red Shiba Inu. See her Facebook album!

Hi everyone, my name is now Ginger. My foster mom chose Ginger because it soothes upset stomachs from dizziness and I am always spinning around in circles. DC SIR sees circling in a lot of mill dogs who manage the stress of being trapped in a small cage their entire lives by spinning. This can be lessened and even completely overcome with time and confidence building. Also, I am a five-and-a-half-year-old, red Shiba Inu! I was rescued from an AR puppy mill with another pregnant female. DC SIR was able to get us picked up with last-minute notice thanks to our transport, Doge Van. DC SIR was told that I am just over a month pregnant. I will have my last litter of puppies in a loving foster home with nutrient dense-food, a private and cozy whelping area, and my puppies will have a lot of enrichment and socialization as they grow up and get ready for their furever homes! When I first arrived at Shiba HQ, I zoomed all over the yard, exploring the wonderful smells of nature! I was taken to get bathed and remove a lifetime of filth from my fur. It took three shampoos and rinses for the water to finally run clean. I did great with body handling, too. After I was dried, I explored the main level of the home. I did great with all the animals, from kittens and cats to resident dogs. I enjoy my yummy food and will come running if you call out to me in a baby voice. Despite all I have been through, I am very loving and want to be petted and cuddled by my foster mom, whom I trust. I will be available for adoption after my puppies are weaned and I have dental and spay!
