Harper is a 2 month old, female, red Shiba Inu.  See her Facebook album!

Hi everyone, my name is now Harper and a Facebook fan named me after a literary novelist from SC. I was released with my sister to a rescue in SC and they called DC SIR. There were a lot of kind people who volunteered to drive me and my sister to DC SIR. It took all day, but we finally got there late at night. My sister and I were full of energy, and we were so hungry! We ate all our food and zoomed around with the other dogs and cats at Shiba HQ! We stayed up pretty late because we slept a lot on the long drive. DC SIR volunteers noticed that I spin a lot in my videos. When I arrived at Shiba HQ it was obvious that I have some issues that need to be addressed by a vet. I didn’t do so well on a tracking assessment with my eyesight, but the vet will need to determine what underlying issues I may have that contribute to my circling and lack of focus on objects. While my sister is puppy pad and almost out door potty trained, I haven’t been able to potty in appropriate places and go where I happen to be. My foster mom is working really hard to keep our playpen clean and cheering me on every time I potty outside or on a pad! While I may not be learning as quickly as my sister I am a very sweet girl. I love everyone I meet and will give kisses to cats, dogs, or people! I don’t like to be alone and prefer to have another dog near me even if it isn’t my sister. DC SIR will require a FRIENDLY dog in the home once they clear me medically. Please follow my story to see if I will be a good fit for your family.
