Kazz is an 11 month old, male, red Shiba Inu. See his Facebook album!

Hi everyone, my name is now Kazz (カズ), and it means “he who makes peace” in Japanese. I am a 11-month-old male Shiba Inu puppy! I am a big boy, so DC SIR didn’t even realize I was a puppy until they saw my paperwork! I am extremely lucky to get out of a life in a puppy mill at such a young age. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to feel the kindness of humans, play with anything except the bars of my cage and I never got to sleep on anything soft. I am scared of people because I have never known kindness from anyone. My foster mom is taking her time with me, and every day, we sit together on the couch, and she feeds me yummy treats. I do great with all the animals at Shiba HQ, including resident dogs and cats. If anyone growls at me, I just cower in a corner, even if I am bigger than them. I do love my food! DC SIR noticed I have bite marks on my neck and face when I got here. I am also so skinny you can feel my bones. So, I am getting fed 3 to 4 times a day to make sure I get all the healthy nutrition I need to grow healthy. I don’t know how to walk on a leash yet, but I let my foster mom carry me everywhere with no issue. I will need time to trust my humans before I could start puppy classes. I am a shy and quiet puppy. I’m too scared to get into anything, but if you help me build my confidence, I can be your lifelong adventure partner or your lifelong couch companion! I am ready to go to my furever home, so if you are interested in adopting me, apply to adopt me at www.dcsir.org/adopt. I look forward to meeting you!
