Valerian is an 8 year old, female, cream Shiba Inu. See her Facebook album!
Hi everyone, my name is now Valerian. My foster mom picked this name because I remind her of the large plume of white flowers from her herb garden. I was rescued with another pregnant female, Shiba, from an AR mill that is shutting down. They didn’t want my last litter to be a mill. I am an 8-year-old small, cream Shiba Inu. DC SIR was told I was just over a month pregnant. I was the first dog out of the transport when we arrived at Shiba HQ. I was so happy to walk on the grass! Before the transporter left I gave him kisses, thanking him for our freedom. After a bit of time exploring the yard after our 4 day trip, I was taken to a shower with the other pregnant Shiba from the same mill. We had years of filth washed from us. It took three baths to get off the filth and have the water run clean. Once we were cleaned we were put in pens by the wood stove to dry. We got yummy food, too. Once we were dry, we got to explore the main floor. At first, I chased the 2 resident kittens. After a couple of days, I got used to them and stopped chasing. I love being near my foster mom and sleeping beside her office chair when she is home. I will jump up on you to be petted too. I love to get and give kisses! I get along with all the dogs in my foster home, but I really want to get love from the people around me. I am so grateful to be in a home. I have a big private pen area with a couple of beds and blankets, but I choose to sleep on the floor because I have never had anything soft to sleep on. I will be available for adoption after my puppies are weaned – will you wait for me?
