Adoption status: Adopted! |
My name is Shari and I’m named after Mount Shari in Japan. I’m a young sesame Shiba Inu girl –around 2 years old. I was found wandering the mountains of North Carolina and eventually I found myself in someone’s backyard. They kept me in their yard while they tried to find my owners, but no one ever claimed me. It was cold and lonely sleeping outside by myself with no one to comfort me. But I sure was happy when I got to ride in a car! I thought maybe I would get to live in a home!
Unfortunately, the people who found me brought me to a shelter. No one had even taken the time to give me a bath. My fur was matted and I was covered in ticks. Being at the shelter was really scary, but I smiled at everyone and gave as many kisses as I could so people would know how nice I am. I never lost hope that I could live in a home again. Luckily, a nice lady there knew that I was a Shiba Inu and contacted DC SIR. They heard about how sweet and scared I was, so they went ahead and said they would take me in before anything bad happened to me. The doctors at the shelter examined me to make sure I was healthy and I was on my best behavior! DC SIR was able to find volunteers to travel a very long way to pick me up (and a nice little male Shiba who needed a home too!). We rode together all the way up to Virginia. I’m so very nice and sweet and I love all of the people and dogs that I meet. If you want a kind, loving girl like me to be a part of your family, please contact DC SIR and tell them you want to adopt me!
