Taro

Adoption status: Adopted!

Taro

Hello everyone, my name is now Taro. I am an 8 year old male Shiba Inu that lived many years in a puppy mill breeding puppies but I also lived in a home at one time. DC SIR left me behind when they took my friend and companion, Kiko, the other week. But they promised to come back for me when they were sure they could cover the medical costs of their current rescues and my eye issues. I’m so glad that so many people cared for those dogs because your help got me my freedom too.

I have a severe eye infection and cloudy eyes so DC SIR is going to make sure that I get the proper medical care and surgery if needed. So they may ask for your help again. So after I was retired from breeding I got to live in an outdoor run with Kiko for a short time. We had lots of green grass and an dog house to keep us warm. But tips of my ears got bald from all the fly bites. DC SIR said that will grow back quick now that I can live in a home.
I’ve only been in rescue a few hours but I was such a good boy during my bath and nail trim. On my way down the stairs from the bath, I saw a little squirrel toy and I was so happy to see something I remember from living in a house, that I picked it up in my mouth and tossed it into the air! I hope I get more toys to play with and a soft bed to sleep in. I am very gentle with people and I met several other fosters in a yard and got to play with them too. Life is starting to look promising. I hope to even have a home where I can be loved.
