Daiki continues to settle in quite well. He had some issues finding a sleeping spot last night, but finally found a corner he liked after a couple of hours. He seems to prefer sleeping on the floor over sleeping on a blanket. I was a little surprised that he hasn’t shown any interest whatsoever in the blanket or the crate that the previous owners brought along.Daiki5

Overall, he seems to prefer being outside over being inside the house. He would probably do great with someone with a yard.

He is a very slow eater, but has a normal appetite, and is drinking water. He does his business quickly when you take him outside, and his stool looks normal. He is not fixed and did mark once inside the apartment and on the balcony yesterday, but I have not seen him try to mark anything since then.

Daiki4He is not showing any signs of anxiety or fear. He will come up and nudge you if he wants to be petted, and he can be very persistent if he doesn’t feel like he got enough attention. This morning he greeted me with a wagging tail and putting his front paws on my legs. If he had the energy he probably would have tried to jump up.

He is very mellow and moves rather slow overall. He can get up and down the stairs with no issues, other than taking it slow there as well. Even with the lower energy, he is very attentive and curious. When someone is in the kitchen, he runs right over there, obviously hoping for someone to share some scraps with him.The only command he appears to know is “come here”. He has no clue what “sit” or “down” means.

Overall he is a very sweet dog with a great temperament. He will probably do well with someone who is looking for a low-key companion.
