Hi, my new name is Haruki! And I can drive! Just kidding! I was just really happy to be out of the shelter so I got in the drivers seat to let the DC SIR volunteer to step on it! I’m a 4.5 year old male Red Shiba Inu. I used to live in a home but my family surrendered me to a Maryland shelter. My people put me there because they said I ran away too much when they left me alone in the yard. I’ve actually been to the shelter 4 other times! I was lucky to only be in the shelter for a short time because DC SIR sent volunteers to scoop me up and put me in a foster home! When the DC SIR volunteer arrived at the shelter, she saw I was getting Shiba-star treatment! I was sitting proud and proper in an employee chair in the office and getting all kinds of wonderful love and attention from the staff! I adore people and attention.

So let me tell you a little more about myself. I am very sweet towards people. I’m also very handsome and polite. I’m a bit tiny at just 22lbs and I know how to move swiftly. DC SIR says I’m a bolter. I think that means I can run really fast. I think cats are really nice when I met them at the shelter but DC SIR wants to wait and see how I do when I see a cat in a home. Dogs are ok too. I haven’t played yet because I’m still settling in with DC SIR but I did real well with meeting a bunch of dogs at the shelter and I’ll be living with another DC SIR alum too. I like sitting on my foster mom’s lap. I am going to have my very own album with pictures and stories about me. Please watch for updates so you can see how incredibly handsome and smart I am.
