Hello everyone, my name is now Jun, and it means ‘pure and clean’ in Japanese. I am a 5-year-old, female Shiba Inu. I was a breeder release from a Florida family with 5 other Shiba Inus. I’ve lived my whole life with other dogs, and DC SIR says I am the most playful and confident of the group. I am a tall Shiba and weigh around 29lbs! When a family member passed, and we were no longer being bred, I was sent in transport to Shiba HQ. We arrived at Shiba HQ late at night and got to explore the yard, drink water, and have potty breaks before heading inside. Any time the volunteer called me with a happy voice, I came running to her and gave her some playbows! I settled into sleep with my friend, Miku, and we didn’t get up until the morning. When I woke in the morning, I got to go outside with everyone. It is colder here in DC than Florida. But I was happy to be able to run, and I zoomed around and played! I like to hang around my brother Kojiro. He’s tall and big like me. We explored the yard together too. I’m great with being picked up, and if you act as you will play with me then I’ll come to you! I also like to eat food and ate all my yummy raw food and took treats from my foster mom. When I was in boarding in Florida, I was around cats and did well with them too. I haven’t had any accidents in the house, and I love to touch my foster mom when I sleep next to her on the couch. I also find comfort in my sisters who came with me from Florida. I am not great with walking on a leash, but I don’t do too bad. I’ll need to learn this, but DC SIR says I am a fast learner. I figured out how to use the dog door quickly also. You can make me smile by talking to me in a baby voice and playing with me! I am recovering from my spay, and soon I leave for my foster home where I will be living with 3 other Shiba Inus. DC SIR will tell you more about my personality as they get to know me. But I can already tell you that I am a sweet and loving Shiba Inu who would do well in a multi-dog home. Please share my story to help me find my forever home!
