Hello everyone, my name is now Kumo, and it means ‘cloud’ in Japanese. I am an 18-pound, 7-year-old, male, American Eskimo. I know I’m not a Shiba Inu, but I was surrendered to DC SIR with my brother who is a Shiba Inu. We needed to come into the rescue quickly, and my brother is not good with other dogs. So he went into an only dog home, and I am in foster care with two other DC SIR alumni. We can be adopted separately or together. I have had two homes in my life, and recently my family situation changed, and not everyone wanted dogs. So my brother and I were sent to DC SIR. We had a long drive to get there, and we were kind of scared at first. But the volunteers kept telling us we are such good boys and we believe them! We both got lots of yummy treats from the volunteers. When we arrived at Shiba HQ, we got to explore the yard and run around. After some time my brother went inside and got to relax with some treats and toys. They wanted me to stay in the yard and meet some dogs before I left for my foster home with other dogs. They brought out the neutral dog, Katniss. At first, I tried to show her how tough I am, and I puffed my chest and tried to stand on her back, but she threw me down and told me not to be a bully. She was nice about it, so I started to play with her. Then I met so many dogs, and I couldn’t decide who to play with first I just ran around yelling, “OMD!!! I’m in Shiba Heaven.” I zoomed around with all the Shibas and the one that looks like a Pomeranian! I was so happy to have so many friends play with me. DC SIR says when I get excited I bark. And bark. And bark. Ha – I was excited. But they’ll let you know how I do in my new foster home. Anyway, I love people, and I love other dogs (especially SHIBAS!). I also love to cuddle. I’ll use my fluffy butt as a weapon to displace furry competition from getting pets from my people. Please share my story to help me find my forever home!
