Punishing a dog for growling takes away your early warning system.

Too often we see people training out the growl. Ian Dunbar famously said about punishing growling that it’s like “removing the ticker from the time bomb.” When your dog growls, s/he is trying to tell you something. So listen up and look for opportunities to redirect your dog.
