A dog can have different motivators (e.g. food, play, fetching a ball, a chance to chase something, a car ride, etc.). When a dog starts learning something new, we should use the reward that motivates the dog most in that situation.
By using motivators to train your dog, it makes the dog associate you with awesome things and help build a strong bond between the two of you. This bond will make your possibilities endless for training.
Most people are familiar with food-based reward, but pay close attention to your dog and you’ll find endless motivators from toys to tug!
