Hello everyone, my name is now Chou, and it means ‘butterfly’ in Japanese. I am a 2-year-old, 23lbs, female Shiba Inu. I was surrendered to a Virginia Beach shelter because the children in my family became allergic to me. But boy do I come with a story! Thankfully, the shelter called DC SIR to take me into rescue. I’m a very friendly Shiba, and I get along with cats, dogs, and people! I sound perfect huh? Well, I also like to eat thing you leave around the house. My previous medical records show that I ate spicy chicken wings on TWO separate occasions. One time required surgery. My medical records show that I also ate cigarette butts, a chicken leg, and thin mints on separate occasions. If I’m left in my crate for a long time, I’ll eat my bed too! So DC SIR is going to work on my GI issues to help me eat appropriate things. I hear they don’t leave food out for me to get into anyway. But they will let you know how I do. My foster mom will be sleeping on the couch with me tonight to make sure I don’t eat the couch too haha! I’m really not that bad (they hope). So let me tell you more about me. I rode well on the 3.5 hr drive to Shiba HQ. I cuddled with the volunteers or looked out the window. When I arrived at Shiba HQ, I got to explore the backyard on my own. Soon I met the neutral dog, Katniss. We got along great, so I slowly got to meet everyone. I do great with other dogs! Once I was done exploring, my foster mom carried me up for a bath and nail trim. I was such a good girl for both. After the shower I was so happy I did the zoomies all over the bathroom. Make sure to watch the video of me being silly as I dried off. I got to see all the dogs again, and I love everyone. I also love boiled chicken (and spicy chicken wings haha! But don’t ever feed a dog cooked or spicy food!) Anyway, DC SIR is going to assess me. I am scheduled to be spayed next week, but once I recover from surgery I’ll be ready for adoption! Please follow my story and share my album to help me find my pawfect forever home!
