Philly

Philly is a 5 year old female sesame Shiba Inu. Follow her Facebook album.

Hi everyone, my name is now Philly. My name is a Fourth of July theme, which, is short for Philadelphia! I am a small female sesame Shiba Inu! I am one of 9 Shiba Inu’s rescues from an Arkansas Breeding Facility where many of us were in danger of euthanasia. After our long drive, I was one of the first Shibas to be released from my crate at Shiba HQ and I immediately ran over to my foster mom and kissed her all over. DC SIR noticed I am not as shy as the other rescues, and they think I probably lived in a home at some point. I can be a bit growly with other dogs that get too close in my space, especially rambunctious puppies! Otherwise, I am great around dogs and cats. After a couple of days at Shiba HQ, I had a four-hour drive to my foster home. I rode well in the crate and didn’t make a peep the entire drive. Once I got to my foster home I got to explore the yard before meeting my foster brother, DC SIR alum Riki (2018). My foster mom says I am learning quickly. My foster brother is showing me how to play with toys, roll over to get pets, eat treats and how to be a well-mannered Shiba. I am sleeping in my crate at night in my foster mom’s room along with Riki. She tells me I snore. When we are downstairs, I like to be with everyone, so my foster mom set up a large x pen area just for me. I still have to learn to potty outside, but I am making progress. I am learning to explore my new home and live like a normal dog. I am not too fond of the leash, but I am learning that too!
