Amber

Amber is a 2 year old, female, red Shiba Inu. See her Facebook Album!

Hello everyone, my name is now Amber. I am a small 22-pound, 2-year-old red female Shiba Inu. My family member became ill, and they asked DC SIR to take me in and find me a forever home. I had a long drive to Shiba HQ but rode well in the car. I enjoyed delicious cheese snacks on the drive. When I arrived at Shiba HQ, I got to meet chickens, dogs, and cats. I did great with everyone I met. I enjoyed running around the yard and exploring new smells. Once I came inside, my foster mom put me on the couch, and I took a nap next to the resident cat. I am a bit shy with new people but warm up quickly. I get long great with cats, dogs, and children. DCSIR noticed I don’t jump up on furniture, and I don’t seem confident jumping off the couch, so they think I may not have had a lot of experience being on furniture. I slept in my dog bed next to my foster mom’s bed. I have a lot of my favorite toys that came with me, and they will go with me when I am adopted. I am a very sweet Shiba, and DC SIR volunteers think I will be adopted very quickly. I even spend time with the rescued kittens at Shiba HQ and tolerate them playing all over me. I am learning to use the dog door but haven’t had any accidents in the house. I walk well on a leash and have enjoyed eating my nutrient-dense raw food. I am up to date on medical and will be able to go to my forever home as soon as DC SIR finds the right match. Think we would be a good fit? Be sure to apply for me at [www.dcsir.org/adopt](http://www.dcsir.org/adopt). I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your family!
