Bowie

Bowie is under 1 year old, female, red Shiba Inu. See her Facebook album.

Hello everyone! My name is now Bowie, and I am named after the city I was found in Maryland. Thankfully, a lovely couple took me in while trying to find my owners. I wasn’t chipped and was just running loose with a collar. After posting me everywhere and contacting shelters, they realized no one was coming for me and asked DC SIR to find me a loving home. The nice couple took me to the vet and got my health check and vaccines. I still need to be spayed and chipped, so please consider making a small donation to help with my care. The vets have estimated my age to be nine months old up to one year. I weigh 20 lbs, and I am an active, friendly puppy. When the volunteer from DC SIR picked me up, I was happy to jump in the car and cuddle the whole drive to Shiba HQ! I ate yummy treats and looked out the window. When I arrived at Shiba HQ, I got to explore the yard on my own. Soon, I met each dog individually, starting with their neutral assessment dog, Katniss. I did great with everyone, from the youngest puppy at 6 months old to the oldest visiting alum, who is 16 years old. I also did well with the resident cat. I loved the yummy raw food I got to eat, and I was calm enough to eat my meal with the group of Shibas. Soon, I was running all over the yard doing zoomies with the resident puppy, Zinnia. DC SIR thinks I am just a sweet, easy-going Shiba Inu that will do great in a variety of homes. They will schedule my spay and update you with my behavior and medical assessment. DC SIR already thinks I will do great in a multipet home. I do seem a bit nervous and timid with strangers and body handling so they will let you know more about that soon too.
