Hello everyone, my name is now Buttercup, which was voted the most popular name for me by my fans! I’m one of the Valentine pups from a PA breeding facility. I am a 5.5 yr old, 18 lb, sesame female Shiba Inu. Another rescue learned that I was being released and contacted DC SIR to help me. I had a long three-hour ride to my new foster parents’ home. I was a bit nervous, but I did really well on the ride. As soon as I got to my new foster home, I was greeted by two very happy DC SIR alums, Jasmine and Daisy, which made me very comfortable. If they are happy, I know I’ll be happy too. After a good walk, I explored all the nooks and crannies of my new foster home and enjoyed all kinds of boiled chicken. They offered me some treats, but I haven’t gotten used to eating those yet. The next day, I was willing to eat some raw food and I loved it! I can walk on a leash pretty well. I’m still getting used to it, but I just follow Jasmine and Daisy. The loud noises do startle me, like a garage door opening/closing, or my foster dad dropping something. I trust people enough to be picked up. I love rubs and a good chest scratch. I’m starting to play with my new fursisters. They taught me how to do a Shiba bump like a pro. We people-watch through the window together. I slept in a crate all night. I’m pretty comfortable in there. When I’m not in my crate or playing with my foster fursisters, I like to hang out on the couch and relax. Once I have my spay and vetting, I’ll be available for adoption. If you think your place would make a great furever home for me, please let DC SIR know!
