Hi everyone, my name is now Ciro, and it is the Spanish and Italian version of Cyrus which means “sun“ in Italian. My foster mom picked this because the day she picked me up from Shiba HQ it was pouring down rain. She says I am so special that I am a ray of sunshine! I was rescued with 31 other Shiba Inu’s from a puppy mill release. I am the only male of 12 Shiba Inu’s that went to DC SIR. I am a small guy at only about 24 lbs. I rode well in the crate and didn’t make a peep for the 15 hr drive to Shiba HQ. When I arrived at 1:30 in the morning, the volunteers let us out of our travel crates one by one. We were harnessed and leashed. When I came out of my crate, the volunteers thought something was wrong with my legs, but I was just stiff from the long journey! I loved seeing all the ladies free to walk on grass with me. I shook my tail and greeted all my friends who were also freed. After our potty break, we went into xpens next to my friends and slept around the beds because we were not used to sleeping on something soft. In the short time I was at Shiba HQ, I got along with everyone; resident dogs, a cat, and people. When my foster mom picked me up from Shiba HQ, I found out I will live with a DC SIR alum! I gain a little more confidence daily, and now I love walking around the backyard. I’m very curious about the world! I love to watch TV, especially “Ted Lasso” and “Family Guy” with my foster mom & dad. I’m still nervous, but I will eat boiled chicken from my foster’s hands and accept pets/neck scritches. My foster family notices I like to have people or dogs around me at night. I’d love a home with a friendly dog to cuddle up next to. I will need full medical, so if you can, please donate!
