Kaida

Kaida is a 4 year old, female, cream Shiba Inu. Follow her Facebook album.

Hello everyone, my name is now Kaida, and it means “little dragon” in Japanese. I am a 4-year-old, cream female, Shiba Inu, who was released from a puppy mill with my sister, Ko. We have lived our entire lives together in a concrete run outdoors. We are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. We were lucky that liaisons called DC SIR to take us in when the mill shut down. We are friendly Shiba Inus, and while we are fearful, we aren’t as scared as the typical mill dog. We are both curious, and when we trust you, we will follow you around and maybe let you pet us! I am a bit more adventurous than my sister, Ko. She just had a litter of puppies before we were released, so maybe she will become more confident later. I am the first to sniff a new thing or try new food. We rode in the car for over four hours to Shiba HQ. When we got there, I was very excited to run in the yard. I met other friendly dogs, Aika and Katniss, which made me feel more confident to explore. The ground felt strange and soft. I only ever walked and slept on concrete. It felt so good that soon I was prancing about like a gazelle. I explored the large yard and met other dogs, but I always checked to ensure Ko was nearby. Soon we had to get a bath, which wasn’t fun, but the volunteer held me, and I didn’t shake so bad. When we got to dry off outside, we felt so good we did zoomies all over the yard. My foster mom said we need to sleep in an xpen the first few nights we live in the house to ensure we don’t hurt ourselves. We tried to get out, so she laid down in the xpen with us until we fell asleep. She had to put us on the soft bed because we weren’t used to it. We got treats and another potty break and slept through the night. We learned the dog door and love it here! We know there is a perfect home for us. Is it you?
