Hello everyone, my name is now Lucky, which was voted on by my fans. I have a St. Patrick’s Day-themed name because my mom and I were rescued from a breeding place the day before St Patrick’s Day! I am a 1.5 year-old-female Shiba Inu. I am a red-headed black and tan Shiba. I lived on a farm in an outdoor shed with a run. I wasn’t bought up like the rest of my shiblings so our owners decided to release me and my mom to rescue and will no longer breed and sell Shiba Inus. The DC SIR volunteer was told I was a 6 month old so they brought a little doggie seat for me to ride in. I was bigger and more nervous than my foster mom expected. So, along the drive, she pulled over and put my doggie seatbelt on in the back seat so I could be closer to my mom’s crate. This settled me down, and I didn’t try to escape the scary moving car anymore. Once we got to Shiba HQ, I was able to explore the yard and meet other Shibas! I was so happy to run free. Soon, we had to have a bath, which I didn’t like, but I was covered in dirt. Once that was over, I had the BEST ZOOMIES of my life! Unfortunately, I had a short seizure the first night in rescue. It wasn’t long, and I haven’t had another one, but DC SIR will need to monitor this and have the vet check me out. They have seen other mill pups have seizures when coming out of a mill and not have them again, so they hope I will be healthy. DC SIR thinks I will be able to adjust to just about any home life – from apartment to house. I am learning to walk on a leash too. If you think your place would make a great furever home for me, please let DC SIR know!
