Hello everyone, my name is Rika, and I am 10-year-old, red, female Shiba Inu who has lived with one family my entire life. Unfortunately, my family’s life circumstances recently changed. They are moving across the country and won’t be taking me with them. I am glad my family contacted DC SIR, so I got to go straight to a foster home with a family and DC SIR alum! My previous family told DC SIR that I am great with dogs, cats, kids, and small animals, and I generally am a happy and loving Shiba. I’m great with body handling too! When my foster picked me up, I was a little nervous on the ride, but she assured me that everything was going to be okay and that I would be safe and loved. When I got to my foster house, I played with toys, and then I went for a long walk around the neighborhood. I love to walk and enjoy meeting anyone who will greet me. At my foster home, I couldn’t believe how many toys there were, and I grabbed them all and played with every toy I could find I also love to watch Doggie TV, or what you guys call a window. There are so many birds and creatures to watch from inside the house. I could just sit there for hours! I really love being near my foster parents, and I trust them enough that I roll over for belly rubs whenever I think I can get them to pet me. My foster mom says I am such a happy and energetic Shiba! I really want to be loved and feel like I will have a forever home. Could it be you?
