Ruby

Ruby is an approximately 3-4 year old female, red Shiba Inu. Follow her Facebook album.

Hello everyone, my name is now Ruby. I’m one of the Valentine pups released from an Ohio mill. I am a larger, long-haired Shiba Inu. My foster mom noticed I had a bit of a belly and some discharge, so she was able to get the mobile vet to come to Shiba HQ within a couple of days of my arrival. DC SIR knew that some dogs in this pull were likely pregnant, so they had a relaxin test done, which can tell if a dog is pregnant, and my test came back positive. So I will have my last litter of puppies being pampered and cared for at Shiba HQ! They don’t know how many pups I have in my big belly and don’t want to stress me out with many vet visits, so I will be pampered while we wait. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am fearful of people, but when my foster mom uses a happy, high-pitched voice, I get really happy and start shaking my tail and even play-bow at times. I will come close to my foster mom, but I’m still scared, so I just shake my tail and run around her. Sometimes, I even stop and let her pick me up! She has been so gentle with me that I am learning to trust her, which she says is really important for when I give birth in the next month. I was really good at my vet appointment when the mobile vet came to Shiba HQ. They drew my blood for wellness and titers and had to shave some of my long fur. My foster mom held me, and I was scared but didn’t protest too much. I’m long-bodied and weigh about 33 lbs. My foster mom noticed I am too big for the whelping box they have from last year’s surprise puppies that small Dahlia and Peony had so look on the Amazon wish list when they find an appropriate sized whelping box for me. DC SIR thinks I will love being a retired house dog for a loving family. I’m so happy I won’t be in a small cage for my last litter of puppies! Please consider adopting me when I am ready for adoption!
