Hi Everyone, my name is Shohei which means “Respect” in Japanese. I came from a nice family where I lived with my pawrents, two human siblings, and my older Shiba brother. Recently my shibling brother became aggressive and attacked me. It was very scary and I had to have stiches all over my face. After that I was very scared and uncomfortable around him so my pawrents contacted DCSIR. When I got dropped off at my new foster home I didn’t know what was going on and I cried a little when my mom left but then I went to sleep. The next day I woke up and felt better, my foster human is very nice and I am the only dog which makes me more comfortable after my incident.

I don’t love having my harness put on but I’ll allow it because I know that means we’re going outside! I walk great on my leash and love to go on adventures. I am very curious and like to sniff and explore holes in the ground and chase squirrels. When I am inside the house I like to sleep on the sofa or in bed next to my foster mom, I put my head on her feet or in her lap so she knows I’m there. I whine a little when my foster mom leaves but when she comes back I am so happy I talk to her; I also talk when playing with my toys. I am all healed now and ready to find my furever home. I will just need my two week medical and temperament assessment and I will be ready for adoption. Please follow my story and apply to adopt me if you think I’d be a great fit for your family!
