We’ve spent some time away from Facebook, but our work hasn’t stopped! So what have we been up to?
Adoptions
Wonderful news! Our rescue Buddy has been adopted! Buddy found his forever home on Sunday, July 20. He joins his new sister, DC SIR alumni Takara, in a peaceful, loving home with a wonderful dad! Buddy and Takara make a perfect match, helping each other feel confident. Congratulations to Buddy, Takara, and their dad! Here’s to many happy years together!
Events
Our July 20 adoption event at Wylie Wagg in Fairfax was a big success! We had a big turnout, with both prospective adopters, new fans, alumni and their families! We also debuted our newest rescue. Thank you to everyone who came out to the event!
We also finalized plans for our next event on August 30, the Historic Congressional Cemetery’s 2nd Annual Day of the Dog Festival. We had a great time at this event last year, and look forward to participating again this year!
Rescues
We continued our work identifying potential new rescues. On July 18, we welcomed our newest rescue, Matcha! He’s a fun-loving 3 year-old black & tan. We’re getting to know more about this newest rescue, and will post an update from his foster parents soon!
Volunteers
Addressing one of our highest priorities, we have several new volunteers! We are excited to have these enthusiastic new volunteers as part of our team, and look forward to working with them as we make saving Shibas fun! Welcome, new volunteers!
We are still looking for additional volunteers. Currently, we are seeking a new Shelter Intake Coordinator. If you are interested in applying for this position, complete the volunteer form.
