Michio is a male senior Shiba rescued by DC SIR and adopted in 2013. Here is Micho’s adoption story as told by his mother.

In 2013, Bill, Yoshi (male 9 yr. Shiba Inu) and I were living in DC. To be honest, I always wanted another Shiba but having to raise another puppy would bring its challenges. I don’t think Bill or Yoshi were keen on the idea. Yoshi was the only Shiba in the household and Bill was concerned. Concerned Yoshi would not give up his crown or attention to another Shiba. I guess Michio proved them both wrong.

Michio became a part of our family in December of 2013. We quickly learned he liked to hide under furniture. So, in order to make him more comfortable, we pulled the couch further away from the wall and placed lots of blankets and stuff animals. Every Shiba needs their quiet and tranquil area.

Michio now lives a wonderful life with three walks a day, much love from his mommy, daddy, Yoshi, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, tons of back scratches, healthy food, and doggies snacks after each meal (and some in between). Michio brings so much love and warmth into our family, and we are blessed to have him. He evens allows Yoshi to think he’s still the king of the house, but in reality we have two kings, Yoshi and Michio. Thank you DCSIR for allowing us to adopt Michio!
